After the attacks of September 11, 2002, Afghanistan and the War on Terrorism dominated the headlines. Since then, the Christian community has focused on exactly how the church should respond to those who profess the Islamic faith. Within the greater world community, there is debate on how to best respond to the problems of rebuilding a nation that has suffered through decades of war and the its privations. Believing that Christ taught that all the people of the world are our neighbors, Samaritan's Purse once again got involved in the international relief effort. Bruce was asked to go to assist in that effort by wearing his "administrator's" hat to help set up the hospital in Kholm from February 22 until March 20, 2002.
